Budget Gaming PC Build Recommendations Needed

So I am looking to dive into the world of PC gaming without breaking the bank, and I need some advice. I have been hearing mixed opinions about whether it is better to build a PC or just buy a pre-built one, especially when you are on a budget.

I know that building might save me a few loonies, but the idea of picking out the right components feels a bit overwhelming. I would love to hear from you guys who have some experience in this.

I am aiming to play the latest games like Cyberpunk 2077 and maybe get into something like Fortnite. My plan is to keep my budget around $1000 CAD, including peripherals if possible.

Is that realistic? I know cutting-edge graphics cards can be pretty pricey, so maybe there are some decent alternatives that will not cost an arm and a leg.

I am mostly worried about performance when gaming or streaming, so it sounds like those update apps could mess with that without me noticing.

Do you know if it is easy to turn off those background tasks temporarily? Or do I have to uninstall the whole app? I do not want to lose the convenience of updates but also want to avoid slowdowns.
 
If you want to keep things simple but still learn, try buying a budget pre-built with a decent CPU and then upgrade the GPU yourself later. It takes some pressure off you hunting every deal but still lets you get into building gradually.
