Need help with diagnosing a hardware problem

i've been having some frustrating issues with my PC recently and it's driving me nuts. <a href="https://www.google.com">Google</a> it started with random reboots anthreadd now my monitor won't even get a signal when I do a cold boot. been trying to figure out if it's a component dying on me or something more serious. i've run the Windows memory diagnostic tool, but it didn't find anything wrong. my rig is about 3 years old, built it myself, with a Ryzen 5 3600 and an RTX 2060, so it's not exactly ancient. i really don't want to shell out too much unless it's absolutely necessary. anyone know what steps I should take next to pinpoint the issue? i've checked the power supply connections Google and they're fine, temps seem okay too. i need to get this sorted out ASAP because I rely on this machine for work during the day and these surprise shutdowns are not helping productivity. any ideas?

sounds like a power issue or maybe your GPU is acting up... if you can, try reseating the RAM and GPU, sometimes that does the trick.
 
might be worth checking your BIOS settings, sometimes weird stuff can happen there like power saving features messing with your boot sequence... if that doesn't help, maybe try a different monitor or cable just to rule those out before diving deeper into hardware issues

I had a similar issue where mine was underpowered for the components I had... even if it seems fine, sometimes they just start failing without obvious signs.
 
@Junaid Jamshed reseating the RAM and GPU is a solid idea, but I wouldn't jump on that just yet considering how intermittent your issues are... could be a deeper problem like the PSU. even if the cables look fine, those connectors can get loose over time, leading to power issues,

especially under load.

you should also check if the PSU is rated for your current setup, or maybe do a stress test on the CPU/GPU to see if the symptoms change. sometimes it's a subtle sign of failing hardware or capacity issues rather than something obvious like a loose connection.

if the motherboard's power delivery is iffy, that could cause similar symptoms without any clear signs. when you test your hardware, make sure you're not just focusing on the PSU first, it might seem fine but hidden faults can really throw you off.

also, have you checked for any unusual beeping codes or LED indicators on the mobo? that can give you a clue too...

if the system's running fine under load most of the time and then suddenly goes for a hard reboot, it’s definitely worth looking at stress points like the motherboard. sometimes it just fails to create stable connections and doesn't draw enough power even with a reliable PSU.

it’d be a good idea to test with a different PSU if you get the chance... i went through a similar boat a while back, and swapping out a PSU ain't that hard. but you might wanna rule out other components too, just in case the issue lies beyond power delivery.

if the monitor isn’t getting a signal, it might be worth checking the video cable and ports too... sometimes a loose connection there can cause issues like that.

sure, it’s crucial, but I think it’s easy to get caught up in the idea that just because it’s rated well, it’s automatically good. like you said, issues can pop up under load, but also,

there are times when the PSU just doesn’t play nice with certain components. i’ve seen cases where a PSU that seems fine on paper just doesn't mesh with specific motherboards or GPUs, causing all sorts of weird behavior.

it’s worth considering that compatibility can be a big factor too. sometimes it’s about finding a PSU that not only meets the wattage needs but also has solid reviews for reliability with your specific setup.
