Need a Reliable Diesel Mechanic in Lahore

Moving from Karachi, I am trying to settle into Lahore but I am facing an issue with my car's diesel engine. It is an old Toyota and the performance has been acting up recently.

The engine is making weird noises that I do not remember hearing before and there seems to be a drop in power. I have checked online and found some options.

World Diesel Services is getting rave reviews with a 5/5 star rating from 25 people, which sounds pretty solid. I have also heard about Fawad Diesel Engineering, also boasting a perfect score, but with fewer reviews.

Fazal motors.PK seems like a good bet too, with a 4.3/5 rating from over 100 reviews. However, since I am not from here, I am still not sure which one to trust.

It is getting frustrating because I do not want my Tokyo troubles to get worse due to inexperienced handling. I used to rely on a local mechanic back in Karachi who knew my car inside out, but now I need someone reliable in Lahore.

If any of you have personal experience with these places or know of any other trustworthy mechanics, I would appreciate your input. It is essential to find someone who understands diesel engines well since it is not something every mechanic does excellently.

If there are any specific services you think I should ask for, or any other tips, please let me know. I am open to visiting these workshops, but a recommendation would really help nail it down.

I have also been checking PakWheels for other options and reviews, but hearing firsthand from you guys would be great. Also, if you have suggestions about how to keep my vehicle in top shape and maybe boost its resale value, that would be awesome. Thanks in advance!
 
Diesel engine wala masla usually fuel filter ya injector sa hota hai, specially old Toyota mein. pehle fuel filter check karwa lo, bohat bar ye chhoti cheez hoti hai jo performance down kar deti hai.
 
fuel injectors check karwana bohat zaroori hai jab diesel engine mein performance ka masla ho, specially old Toyota mein. mere sath bhi aisa hua tha, injector clean ya replace karwaya to gaari phir se pehle jaisi smooth chali.
 
Kya tumne engine ki compression check karwai hai? Old Toyota diesel engines mein kabhi kabhi compression low hone se performance down ho jati hai, jo easily fuel system se confuse ho jata hai. Maine suna hai Fazal motors.PK mein ye test achi tarah karte hain, shayad wo tumhari problem ko pinpoint kar saken.
 
@Tariq Javed Fuel filter aur injector toh common culprits hain, lekin diesel engines main jab old Toyota jaisi gaari ka masla ho, fuel quality aur tank ki safai bhi equally important hoti hain.

Main ne fatafat filter replace karwa liya ek baar, lekin agar tank mein impurities hon ya pani mil gaya ho, toh woh problem solve nahi hua.

World Diesel Services aur Fawad Diesel Engineering jaise specialists is cheez ko seriously lete hain, jo tank aur fuel line puri check karte hain before karengi filter change.

Agar sirf filter par focus kardi, toh asli root cause chhup sakta hai, aur baar baar paise waste karna par sakta hai. Ye sochna ke sirf filter ya injector hi malik issue hain, thora narrow approach lagta hai mere liye :/
 
Checking the turbocharger condition is often overlooked but can make a big difference in diesel engine performance, especially in an old Toyota. If the turbo is leaking or not spinning smoothly, it can cause a loss of power and weird noises. You could ask the mechanic to specifically inspect the turbo seals and shaft play.
 
@William Parker Injector cleaning tou sahi move hai, magar ek cheez aur bhi dekho jo log chorne; woh hai injector timing ya calibration. agar ye theek na ho, to faida limited rehta hai.

Lahore mein Mubarak Diesel Laboratory yeh kaam kaafi achi tarah karti hai, jo aam workshops itni detail mein nahi karti. Kabhi injector ka physical condition sahi hota hai, magar ECU settings ya fuel pump pressure ka masla hota hai, jis se engine performance down ho jati hai.

Is liye sirf injectors pe focus karne se baat nahi banti, thoda holistic diagnose bhi zaroori hota hai. Injector ke sath sath fuel rail aur pressure regulator bhi dekhwado... Yeh sab choti cheezein hain jo asar dalti hain performance pe :)
 
@Zeeshan Iqbal Jab meri Toyota diesel mein performance masla aya tha, to maine pehle compression check karwaya tha. Fazal motors.PK gaya tha aur unka kaam mujhe accha laga.

Compression thora low tha, cylinders bhi worn the, jo purani gaari mein normal hai. Iske baad tune-up kiya aur fuel pump timing adjust ki, tab jaake fark para.

Valves aur piston rings ko bhi focus kiya, us se thodi aur improvement hui. Bas sirf compression pe hi nahi rukna chahiye, engine ke har component ko dekhna zaroori hai. Ye sab mila ke performance sahi hoti hai.
 
@Ayesha Fatima Bilkul sahi kaha, turbo condition ko log asl mein nazarandaz kar dete hain, especially purani diesel engines mein. jab mein apni Toyota ko Sharafat Khan Diesel Services le gaya tha, to unhon ne turbo boost pressure ko ek diagnostic machine se real time check kiya.

Ye test se mujhe pata chala ke turbo vanes thore stick ho rahe thay, jo low power aur ajeeb noises ka sabab ban rahe thay.

Sirf turbo ko clean aur service karna kaafi raha, poora unit replace nahi karna pada, jo paison mein bachat hui. Agar kisi ka diesel engine mechanic ke pass jata hai, to zaroor puchho ke woh turbo boost pressure test kerta hai ya nahi. Ye chhupi hui problems ko diagnose karne mein madadgar hai jo hamesha visual check mein nahi aati.
 
Mere khayal mein pehle fuel quality check karwana chahiye kyun kay diesel engines mein aksar maslay is wajah se aate hain. Lahore mein Fawad Diesel Engineering ka naam suna hai jo diesel engines ke liye bohat acha mana jata hai, wahan zaroor try karo.
 
@Zainab Bibi Sharafat Khan Diesel Services ne turbo clean karne ke baad koi balance ya vibration test kiya tha? Kabhi kabhi turbo repair se power ka masla thik ho jata hai, lekin agar shaft ya blades perfectly balanced na hon, to baad mein engine mein vibration se dusre parts bhi affect ho sakte hain.

Aur ye bhi soch raha tha ke kya unhone intercooler condition bhi check ki thi turbo ke sath? Main ne dekha hai ke clogged intercoolers bhi power drop ka cause bante hain, even if turbo is good. punjab Diesel Laboratory usually har angle se check kar lete hain, toh unse poochna bhi worthwhile ho sakta hai :/
 
@Omer Farooq Compression check karwana zaroori hota hai, jab cylinders worn out hoon, engine ki efficiency directly farq karti hai. Ek dost bhi Fazal Motors.pK gaya tha apni diesel repair ke liye aur acha feedback diya, but usne mujhe kaha ke compression ke sath cylinder head gasket aur valve clearances bhi check kar lo.

Dost kehta hai agar ye chhoti chhoti cheezein theek na karin, to engine ki power loss ka masla wapas aa sakta hai. Aur ye log normally full diagnostic karte hain, jo achi baat hai ke aap sirf ek component pe nahi rukte.

Agar Lahore mein ho to Mubarak Diesel Laboratory mein bhi extensive testing karwa sakte ho. Ye log detailed compression aur leak tests karte hain jo purani diesel engines ke liye helpful hain.
 
@Mustafa Kamal Compression check toh theek hai, lekin sirf is pe depend karna kaafi nahi hota. Kai dafa aisa hota hai ke cylinders toh sahi compression dikhate hain, lekin fuel system ki taraf se koi masla aata hai, jahan engine power loose kar leta hai.

Main ne dekha hai Fawad Diesel Engineering par kuch engines ki compression test acchi thi, phir bhi injectors ya fuel pumps ka timing mess tha jo performance pe impact daal ke sluggish tha.

Is liye system ki detailed diagnostic zaroori hai. Pricing ke mamle mein Fazal motors.PK thori expensive ho jati hai kuch choti workshops ke muqabale mein, jahan pe Ashraf Autos Engineers jese specialists detailed checking karte hain aur overall cost bhi balance mein rahti hai agar unnecessary expenses se bachna chahte ho to.
 
@Nadia Bukhari Baat toh bilkul sahi kahi, ek dafa main bhi apni diesel car ko Ashraf Autos Engineers le gaya tha. Unhon ne sirf compression check nahi kiya, balkay poora fuel system diagnose kiya.

Injector nozzles mein thora clog tha jo fuel spray ko disturb kar raha tha, aur uski wajah se power mein masla aaraha tha. jab ye chhota sa masla thik kiya, toh immediately pickup mein aur smoothness mein achi improvement aayi.

Yani basal compression test ke ilawa bhi kai chhoti cheezein hoti hain jo engine performance ko affect karti hain. Ashraf Autos ya World Diesel Services jese workshops achi hain kyun kay wo sirf ek test pe rely nahi karte, proper diagnostic karte hain.

Engines aksar sound mein problem dete hain lekin asal mein fuel delivery ka masla hota hai, cylinders ka nahi. Ye long-term mein time aur paise dono bachata hai.

Aur uske saath fuel pumps ko calibrate bhi kiya, jo unki machines par hota hai. is wajah se agar engine weak feel ho raha ho despite achi compression, to ye deeper diagnostics asli masla pakad lete hain. Is tarah ka detailed kaam hi inko Lahore mein itni high ratings dilwata hai.

Fawad Diesel Engineering kaafi mashhoor hai yahan, unki 5 star rating mujhe dekhi hai aur suna hai ke unka diagnostic process kaafi acha hota hai.
 
@Vikram Singh Thanks for mentioning turbo shaft balance check, honestly I did not realize it could affect vibrations so much. my car does give this strange shaking feeling sometimes, especially at certain speeds.

do you think it is something the mechanic can quickly test or does it need some special equipment? Also, is Fazal motors.PK better for this kind of thing or should I first try Sharafat Khan Diesel Services? Trying to figure out who is more reliable for this in Lahore.
 
@Logan Butler Bohat shukriya mujhe Fawad Diesel Engineering ka bataane ke liye, sun kar acha laga. Kya aap ko pata hai ke ye older Toyota models, jaise meri, ke liye bhi theek hai?

Mujhe lagta tha shayad wo sirf nayi engines ko dekhenge aur purani diesel ko sahi attention nahi denge. Aur koi idea hai full engine diagnostic ka cost wahan pe kitna ho sakta hai?

Thora rough idea mil jaaye toh plan karna asaan ho jayega. ye bhi dekhna hai ke price meri budget mein fit kar paata hai ya nahi.
