How to Diagnose Hardware Issues on My PC?

So I have been having some odd issues with my computer lately, and it has got me wondering if there might be something up with the hardware.

Sometimes it just feels like it is not running as smoothly as it should. I tried running a few diagnostics but, to be honest, I do not really know what I am looking for.

I just ran a basic Windows diagnostic tool that came up with nothing. I am not sure if it is a power issue, or maybe a RAM thing, or even something else entirely.

How do you guys usually pinpoint the problem? I would love to avoid a trip to the repair shop if I can help it, but I am not against it if it is necessary.

Recently, my screen froze while watching a video, and I had to do a hard reboot. It is pretty frustrating since everything was fine a month ago.

Also, I read somewhere about checking for bottlenecks and that could somehow help with identifying the root of the problem. This Reddit thread mentioned it could be related, but I am not sure how to effectively do that myself.

Any advice on tools or methods to diagnose my PC thoroughly would really help, especially if there is something simple I am missing. I want to make sure I am not overlooking something obvious before I start investing in new parts or get professional help.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can share some wisdom or point me in the right direction. Right now, I am considering using software like HWMonitor to get a deeper look at the temperatures and voltages... Hoping that might reveal a clue. but if anyone has suggestions for better apps or approaches, I am all ears.

@Freya Green Thanks for the suggestion about checking the cooling system. i had not thought about that before. My CPU cooler is a bit older, so it is definitely possible that dust could be an issue.

I do not have a can of compressed air on hand right now, but I can grab one soon. Do you think it would be enough to just clean it out?

Or should I consider replacing it if it is really clogged? also, what other signs should I look for to tell if the cooling is not doing its job? I want to make sure I catch any problems before they get worse.
